Once GlobalProtect is installed from software center you should restart your device if it does not do so automatically. Once your device restarts and is back in windows you can interact with the program by going to the system tray in the lower right, clicking on the up arrow, then clicking on the Globe icon or by going to the Start menu and searching for GlobalProtect.

You may also see the GlobalProtect window upon first logging into the device as it should launch at startup. Depending on how your device is configured you may be prompted to login with your Pitt Username and password:

GlobalProtect should cache this login information for subsequent logins, however you may be prompted again for this in the future.

After you log in with your username and password you will be prompted for MFA options, at this point you can follow the prompt that pops up on the screen which directs you to type in a number corresponding to the options available; alternatively, you can also type push

for a DUO push, phone for a phone call, or sms to get a text message. If you have multiple phone numbers associated with your account, you can also append a number to the end of these options for example if you want to receive a call on your second phone number you would type in phone2.

Once you successfully complete the MFA login you will see a pop-up that says you are connected.

GlobalProtect does not require you to select a “role” like Pulse Secure, it instead provides access to everything you have been provisioned for. If you are unable to access a resource you expect to have access to please notify the ULS Help Desk.
