How to Clear Browser Cache

A web browser will save certain data from websites so that they will load faster. That data can get outdated unfortunately so sometimes you will need to clear your cache to force your web browser to load a fresh copy of the website. This is good to do at a regular interval, but it is also a common troubleshooting step we websites behave in unexpected ways.

Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click the icon with three dots at the top right corner of the window under the x to close the web browser.

  4. Click Settings
  5. From the menu on the left-hand side click Privacy, Search, and Services.
  6. Look For the Clear browsing Data section it’s about middle of the page.
  7. Next to Clear browsing data now click the button labeled choose what to clear.
  8. You Will see this pop-up box pictured below. Set the time range to All Time and check the browsing history, download history, cookies and other site data, and cached images and files check boxes.

  10. Click the Clear now button.
  11. Close Microsoft edge and open it back up again to make sure the changes take effect.

Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Click the three bars at the top right of the window under the x to close the web browser.

  3. Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security
  4. Scroll down to the History section and click Clear history.

  6. Set the time range to clear to everything and check browsing & download history, cookies, and cache check boxes and then click Clear Now.

  8. Close the web browser and open it back up again to make sure that the changes take effect.

Google Chrome:

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of the window under the x to close the web browser.

  3. Navigate to settings.
  4. Click Privacy and security from the left-hand side.
  5. Clear browsing data

  7. Set the time range to all time check browsing history cookies and other site data and cached images and files then click Clear data.

  9. Restart Google Chrome
