Here is a list of different mouse short cuts that might increase your productivity!
Double Click
- In Microsoft Word, any word can be selected by double clicking.
- In Windows, a window can be quickly resized by double clicking the bar at the top of the window.
Triple Click
- In Microsoft Word, triple clicking anywhere in a paragraph will select the entire paragraph.
Right Click
- Right clicking allows you to view (and edit) properties of selected text or objects.
- Right clicking on a file, holding, and dragging it to another location will lead to a selection that lets you Move, Copy, or Create Shortcut.
Scroll Wheel
- The mouse wheel is also a button, pressing down while hovering over a link in a browser will open that link in a new tab.
- Use the Ctrl Key while scrolling in or out to zoom in or out, respectively.
Shift Key + Click
- Highlight portions of text in a text editor by placing the cursor in the beginning location and pressing the Shift Key and clicking where the end of the selection would be (for example, the beginning and end of a paragraph).
Ctrl Key + Click
- Pressing Ctrl while clicking a link will open that link in a new tab.
- Pressing Ctrl allows for selection of multiple different pieces of text or objects: multiple files may be selected in file explorer, or in text editors different parts of a document may be highlighted.
