How to stop a task using task manager

If an application on your computer is frozen or you cannot find a way to shut it down, you can you use the task manager to force the application to end.

Procedure

1. Open the Task Manager.
2. Right click on an empty place in the Taskbar.  Select Task Manager from the menu.
3. 
4. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard.  Click Task Manager.
5. To view all running processes, click on the More Details button at the bottom.
6. 
7. Right Click on the app or process that is having trouble and click on end task from the menu that comes up.

Verification

If you shut down the task successfully, the window should close. Whether or not the process is windowed, it should disappear from the task manager.
