Pitt Guest Wi-Fi
Pre-Requisites
At the ULS (University Library System) there are two different wireless networks designed for guest use. The first, Eduroam, is meant to provide internet for users from other universities or institutions that participate in the Eduroam network. For all other guest users Pitt Guest Wi-Fi is available.
Procedure

Eduroam
If the user is from an institution that participates in Eduroam, they can connect directly to the “Eduroam” network and sign in using their institutional email address and password – regardless of the operating system they are using.

Pitt Guest Wi-Fi Windows Instructions
Tablets, smart phones, Chromebooks should all be able to connect to Pitt Guest Wi-Fi as well. The process for connecting should be the same as connecting to most public Wi-Fi networks for these devices.
Click on network connection in task bar bottom right.

Select Pitt Guest Wi-Fi from the list of network connections.
Hit connect and do not check the connect automatically checkbox.
When you hit connect it should ask you to launch a web browser of your choice of the web browsers installed on your device. When you choose the web browser it will open that web browser and take you to a page to accept terms and conditions of guest Wi-Fi. If it does not ask you to launch a web browser open a web browser of your choice. Then disconnect from the Pitt Guest Wi-Fi and reconnect to Pitt Guest Wi-Fi again with your web browser open to force the Accept page to load.
Click accept.
It will then load the www.pitt.edu home page. From here you are free to navigate to the internet resources that you need. Keep in mind that the internet connection is monitored so only browse to appropriate web pages.
Pitt Guest Wi-Fi Mac OS Instructions
For mac devices click on the list of network connections in the upper right corner of your device. Look for Pitt Guest Wi-Fi and select that from the list of options.
It should launch a window automatically to accept the terms and conditions of Pitt Guest Wi-Fi. Click accept in this window.
In this window it should then connect to the homepage of www.pitt.edu. You should then launch safari or another web browser and navigate to your internet resources as normal. Keep in mind that the internet connection is monitored so only browse to appropriate web pages.

Verification
If you or the user that you are helping can access web pages as normal, then you know that you have connected to the guest Wi-Fi successfully.
